An add-on for the Hermes agent in your DeepSenz Personal Agent. Everyday requests run on your own Mac, so they never leave it and cost nothing per call. When a job needs a bigger cloud model, BrainBridge sends it through your own OpenRouter account, only in the way you choose. Every call gets a receipt.
Add-on module · available now Installs as a standard Hermes plugin, kept separate from Hermes itself.
Hermes runs your agent. BrainBridge decides where each AI request is answered, follows rules you can read, and keeps a record you can check.
Everyday requests run on models on your own Mac, through Ollama or LM Studio. No per-call fees, and the request works even when the internet doesn't.
For bigger jobs, BrainBridge uses your OpenRouter account. Setup takes one sign-in, and the key is stored in macOS Keychain. You pay OpenRouter directly; DeepSenz adds no markup on tokens.
Anything marked private or sensitive always runs on your Mac. No mode or setting can send it to the cloud.
You set daily and per-session limits. When a request would go over a limit, it's blocked, never quietly trimmed. You won't get a surprise bill.
Every request records which model answered, how long it took, and what it cost. Receipts never contain your messages or your keys.
A menu bar light shows which mode is active and where the last request went. You can switch modes there, in a local web panel, or by typing /brain in Hermes.
You can change modes any time from the menu bar. Hermes never needs reconfiguring.
| Mode | What happens | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Local | Every request runs on your Mac. Nothing goes to the cloud. This is the default after install. | Privacy, zero per-call cost, offline days |
| OpenRouter | Requests go to the cloud model you picked, on your own key, after a one-time consent you can revoke. Private requests still stay local. | Heavy research and writing days |
| Cloud on demand | Requests run locally first. When a job is too big for your Mac, BrainBridge pauses it and asks: Allow once · Allow for 4 hours · Deny. | Most people, most days |
| Auto | BrainBridge picks per request from a short, published rule list. Private requests stay local. If the local model can handle it, it stays local. Otherwise it goes to the cloud within your budget, or BrainBridge asks you. | Set-and-forget, with clear rules |
Every request your Mac answers is one you don't pay a cloud provider for. Enter your own numbers to see how quickly the $79 intro price comes back.
The share is your estimate. Chat, drafting, summaries and short look-ups usually suit a local model; long documents and hard reasoning usually need the cloud. BrainBridge's receipts show your real split after the first week.
You'd keep about $10 a month, which is $120 a year.
This is arithmetic on your inputs, not a promise. Local models cost no per-call fees but do use your Mac's power. Core and Signature install customers receive BrainBridge as part of their package, so there is no separate add-on charge.
BrainBridge is a separate service on your Mac. It connects to Hermes through Hermes's own plugin system and never modifies Hermes's code.
Separate by design. BrainBridge runs on its own, with its own runtime. Hermes simply sees one more model provider.
Update-friendly. The connection lives in Hermes's user-plugin folder, which normal Hermes updates keep in place.
Self-checking. After every Hermes update, BrainBridge checks the link. If anything changed, the menu bar light turns red and offers one-click Repair.
Never stranded. If a future Hermes ever changes its plugin system, Hermes's built-in custom-endpoint setting keeps your agent working through BrainBridge while we ship an update.
Fully reversible. Uninstalling restores your Hermes settings exactly as they were.
Buy it as an add-on for your existing Personal Agent, or get it set up for you as part of a Core or Signature install. It is not included in the $199 DIY Kit.

Stripe handles payment. You'll get an email with your download link and a step-by-step install guide. Installation is one command, and BrainBridge starts in Local mode, so nothing goes to the cloud until you turn it on.
No. Local mode works with no cloud account at all. If you want cloud models, setup opens OpenRouter's own sign-in page and connects your account in about a minute. You pay OpenRouter directly, at OpenRouter's prices.
It's designed not to. BrainBridge lives outside Hermes and connects through Hermes's user-plugin folder, which normal updates keep. It checks the link after every update and offers one-click Repair if anything changed, and Hermes's built-in custom-endpoint setting keeps your agent working in the meantime.
An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later, with about 10 GB free for a local model. More memory lets you run larger local models, which means more requests can stay local.
No. In Local mode no request is sent to any cloud model. Private and sensitive requests stay on your Mac in every mode.
Yes. The uninstaller removes BrainBridge and restores your Hermes settings exactly as they were before.
BrainBridge is a separate add-on for the $199 DIY Kit. It is included and configured for you with Core and Signature installs, with your local model, modes and spending caps set during the session.
